Moar

I:
Like a plague, unforgiving
Her smile infects the soul
deadly sin filling mind and body
Living for sweat death
Pleading for poison
Refusing any antidote,
basking in the burning fever of her gaze
Incurable
Every breathe shared is a seizure of ecstasy

Mocking the doctors of the heart,
Suffering from terminal love,
Every fiber begging for more

II: Tranquility
Grass erupts with flowers
as the sun brightly burns

the trees alive with light
sway of their own accord

Nuts and fruits fall
the air shimmers with the pollen

Seeds take root, sprout, and grow
as vines crawl up the trunks
in search of life-light

Mushrooms feed on decaying
Brothers and Sisters
Who in death give life

III: Bloodlust
Steam rises from dry dusty dirt,
Blood soaked, strewn with dead.
Vultures feast gluttonously
as the dying moan and wail

Standing alone, blood covered hands
a scalp worn as a cap,
He breathes heavily with bloodshot eyes
and watches the feast

IV: Shells
Empty shells scattered on empty shores,
each of beacon of hope now lost
to the ebb and tide of time

the crashing waves of anger meet
the silent sand of sadness
The long buried are uncovered

Picked up by new hands,
promising far off places
Yet destined to remain
Until the sea consumes them

V: Shadow
Patiently behind,
the one true witness
of love and lies and hate

the shadow within, without
watching with unwavering eyes
the silent thoughts, the breathless whispers
the gasps and cries, slow breaths and strewn tears

no holding hand, no words of inspiration
only following footsteps and lonesome loyalty
standing behind where none would stand
a string-less puppet bound to just one

VI:
Inky rain soaks into paper fields
the sun rises and falls

A pen for a plow, with each line brings
hop for growths great harvest
future withholds its secrets,
its storms and swarms, it's floods and muds

Undaunted I plant.
each rooted seed sprouts shooting for sunlight
as life bursts forth from my very finger tips

4/25

I
Pulsing through, pushed by the constant beating
my blood flows, my love flows,
on a circulating stream

II
The self inflicted doubt,
the self served lust,
I can't hide from myself, or you
Instead I flee
Distractions are merely a blur
a brief image of a greater picture,
the balance of obsession, indecision,
Unreadable words written on discreet pages
Credit were credit is due, my debt?
Nonexistent

III
Death sends an open invitation,
I refuse to reply

IV
friendless, foolish, freedom
a child of false fiction
a lived dream became a nightmare
awoke to be greeted by nothingness
Anger at betrayal, anger at self doubt
The end of the rainbow, an empty cauldron
brewing the broken bones of men

V
Physical appearances are a great wall,
always decaying, yet
they protect the civilization of the soul

Love is the key to great gate
yet sometimes the love of ill suitors
brings a broken civilization

Conquered, the wall a meaningless pile of stone
Civilians would thrust out those invaders
If the could wrest back the key

VI
The flood waters of the heart
Sweep into the sandbags of stubbornness
The raw tide of emotions resist,
refusing to be overwhelmed
water leaks through yet the bags hold strong,
the rapid torrent, rebuked, diverts its flow
toward more pleasant company

VII
Green leaves portray new life
rejuvinated after a deathly winter
grass shoots upwards, ever reaching
for the suns rays
delighted they dance in the cool breeze

Birds sing sappy songs,
dancing a jig from branch to branch
as a squirrel chit chats with a far off friend

Humanity walks by without a car
boats float on dirty water
cars fly by and a train zooms past

Do they know all they are missing?

VIII
Picture yourself in a prison cell
and only key is in the hands
of someone unwilling to walk
to the door

That is my vision of heartbreak

IX
My strengths, my hopes, my self sacrifices
evaporate in the desert that is your rejection

X
I'll play devil's advocate to your happy go lucky tale of self awareness.
I'll watch you walk into the trap of codependency.
I'll whisper I told you so.

XI
Honesty falls on death ears
Love speaks through mute lips
Tears fall into dust
Blood falls into dirt

XII
Time is measured in broken dreams
Acclaim is measured by failed accomplishments

XIII
Change effects the smallest rain drop to the largest mountain
Only in humanity can the stubborn rebuke change
But only the weak rebuke it, for the strong embrace it

XIV
Easy come, easy go
forget everything you ever though
about loneliness, fear
I live with loneliness, I feed on fear
Homeless with a roof over ones head
lungs live on the breathe you left behind
brick walls feel like a cell
even when the sun shines
it's rays beckoning me to unlock the door,
yet a prisoner I remain, bound
Iron bars discouraging, yet weightless
Chains binding me to my loneliness
Living in a cave, I feed like lichen
yet hunger always burns deep inside
Rotten corpses, rotting friendships
briefly keep one nourished
Feeding off the weak decay
Leeching life blood from the lost loves
bloating, fat and sluggish,
consumed by poachers of life

XV
Time speeds by at measured rates
the sky and sun, the earth and moon,
Yet it stops for none, ever working

Time is money, yet tends to be short
It fleets and it cheats,
the steady heart beat of our very living,
yet towards death it always brings us

Time has no allies, nor enemies
It only contends with itself

XVI
Brewing in a cauldron
stirred by the hand of fat
No witch craft nor magic spell
Toxicity through time and endless mulling
Boiling over,
Spilling hot fear on the world of the innocent

Crafty thoughts breed crafty words
That spit rapid fire from lips too quick
Ricochet back into the eyes of the sayer
blinking and befuddled,
staring at an empty chair
no face, no trace,
just rewind and replay

what went wrong?
once a form and a face
a smile and a laugh
now a chair quite bare
and a half empty glass

Pay a tab, walk away,
bitter defeat tastes like lead

Time

Walking backwards into you
crawling forwards out
Do I doubt the Time spent
or do I live the Time left?

Time spent empty voids Time spent full
If heart beats are the center of Time
How can hearts skip or falter?
From just a gaze or word?

Time is running out, always fleeting,
but Time stands still.
moments are frozen in memories.
memories fade like photographs

Time stays unmovable unmeasurable unbearable.

Falling asleep

No where to go, door and window closed, lost in thoughts that see through white walls and past empty streets and peer into an empty sky lit only by the glimmer of stars and a dull crescant moon. The faint glow guides thoughts onward, a heart beats as they surge forward, past idle cars and empty buildings reaching for the sky only to fall short, over rivers and past parks where people once spent their lively days rejoicing in the company of others, but now lie empty. Reaching, grasping, racing against what time only knows, frantic thoughts grasp for solidity in anything, only anything slips through like sand, tumbling into an empty oblivioin. Desperate, thoughts submerge into empty oblivion, and there find solace.

Seasons From A Tree's PoV

This heat is unbearable,
      standing in sweaty sheen
      soaked through sheets
      the air itself is wet

Come soon cool autumn,
this heat is unbearable,
     brisk mornings grow
     vivid orange and yellow
     and frost on my window

Come later chill winter,
I'll bear this heat longer,
     frozen ground and
     frozen hearts leave
     a tundra on existence.

Dear spring,
For you I will endure,
     green grass grows
     in between my toes
     I'll look around and smile

Rain

rain seeps into my summer, the humid heat trickles away
drop by drop it streams down the sidewalks and streets,
unforgiving heat becomes unrelenting relief as I
wake not in a lethargic sweat, but in cool composure,
with a willingness to start the day with a pen, not a shower

birds whistle their witty tunes to the drum line of drops,
a saxophone drones from a house down the way,
an airplane passes, roaring goodbye from above
a car splashes through streams and puddles,
carrying precious parcels home after work or play

the rain lightens briefly only to fall vigorously again,
a cool breeze blows through leaves of neighboring trees,
causing them to sway as they absorb the pit-pat of the rain,
drops falling from the tops only to land safely on the next,
trees drink greedily, and the grass patiently waits it's turn
